When it comes to Callaway Golf’s new approach to their driver technology, good things always come in threes.

That’s what Dr. Alan Hocknell, Callaway’s chief of Research and Development, said in a statement regarding the company’s introduction of their newest Big Bertha drivers: the Big Bertha Alpha 815 and the Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond.

The newest duo of drivers completes the trio that makes up Callaway’s Big Bertha V-Series options, the latest in Callaway’s approach to driver technology that bolsters a wide range of exciting new features.

A New Take on Speed

Callaway’s V-Series aims to put more velocity into the hands of golfers that are looking to ramp up their long games. The aerodynamic design – including the application of lightweight components – provides less resistance through the air for optimal speeds from start to finish, while the lightweight club heads of the V-Series make it easier for any golfer to add some momentum to his or her swing.

Both the reduced weight combined with state-of-the-art aerodynamics allow for a substantially fast club. The V-Series is perfect for any golfer that is looking to get more swing speed out of his or her stroke when teeing off. After all, more speed equals more distance.

Adjustments Suited For Your Game

Many golfers that have been playing the game long enough have learned a few things, like the fact that golf is generally a game of give and take. For example, the initial release of the Big Bertha Alpha boasted a club with maximum distance at attainable swing speeds, but wasn’t as forgiving as some players – especially novice players just starting out – would like.

That’s where the Alpha 815 comes in. The V-Series Big Bertha Alpha 815 was designed with both velocity and supreme forgiveness in mind, making it the perfect choice for beginning or slow-swinging golfers that are looking to gain some serious yardage out of their drives.

With low spin technology applied to the ultra-forgiving Hyper Speed titanium face that allows for straight and solid hits off the driver, the Big Bertha Alpha 815 is the perfect club for the beginner or intermediate golfer.

However, what about scratch players that are looking to add yards to their drives?  Enter the Big Bertha 815 Double Black Diamond, Callaway’s other newest driver option for 2014. This particular version of the Big Bertha driver – as its skiing-inspired name implies – is for experts only. That’s because the Double Black Diamond is designed with one thing in mind: distance. The low-spin technology will pay off for golfers with higher swing speeds by producing booming hits down the fairway – as long as you’re keen to hitting the ball straight off the tee and not slicing.

Customizing Your Club

One of the best features of the V Series Big Bertha drivers is their wide array of customized settings and adjustments that can conform to any golfer’s swing. The OptiFit hosel system that is featured on the new V-Series clubs will allow golfers to make adjustments to the stated loft by a range of two degrees higher to one degree lower.  Both the new Alpha 815 and the Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond provide golfers with eight different lie and loft configurations that allow golfers to adjust for the appropriate lie angle that’s suited for their swings.

The latest additions to the Big Bertha family of drivers also feature heel and toe weights that will allow golfers to fine-tune their shots off the tee.

So is it true that good things always come in threes? With Callaway’s latest driver strategy – researching and developing great clubs that can conform to any golfer’s game – the old saying certainly applies.

The new Callaway V-Series Big Bertha Alpha 815 and the Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond Drivers are available for pre-order on October 24th, 2014.
