As a whole, the durability of golf balls among all brands has come a long way in the past decade. We have seen cracks and cuts on balls from all brands back in the day. R&D certainly makes a difference!

It’s definitely cool to see all of the innovations they have come up with through their history. Callaway Golf has certainly come a long way since the hickory days!

Although, I would say they could be argued to have come of with the oversize concept, or at least being the first to successfully market it.

Still an interesting story of an interesting man…I definitely remember them when they were a hickory-shafted iron company, and have watched their growth in amazement ever since. Found this article searching “Callaway started out making hickory irons,” lol.

Comment on PGA Tour Tells Golfers Where They Must Play, Sort Of by Brad Pecot https://www.golfballs.com/blog/pga-tour-tells-golfers-where-they-must-play-sort-of/#comment-1015 Thu, 17 Dec 2015 22:24:38 +0000 http://blog.golfballs.com/?p=1331#comment-1015 Absolutely agree Tony. Just like with any changes, there will be push back. But this is for the better of the Tour and once the players get some new events under their belt, they may even find that they were enjoyable!

Left to police themselves the tour players and golf itself would not be the game it is today—-a kin to the AMA etc. The PGA ISN’T PERFECT BUT IT’S NECESSARY TO KEEP THE GAME AS RESPECTED AS IT IS!
