Because wedges<\/a>, along with your putter<\/a>, are your primary scoring clubs inside of 120
\n yards, you need to carry the number of wedges that give you the best opportunity to stop your ball within
\n one-putt range. If the pitching wedge (PW) that comes with your set has 48 degrees of loft, then a gap wedge
\n (GW) of 52 degrees or 53 degrees, plus a sand wedge or lob wedge of 56 degrees-58 degrees should be all you
\n need.<\/p>\n

If, however, your PW is 45 degrees or 46 degrees, then you may benefit by adding 50 degrees, 54 degree, and
\n 58 degree wedges in order to assure consistent 4-degree gaps between each wedge. Keep in mind that the wedge
\n game is primarily one of feel, and the best way to determine if three wedges will be enough, is to practice
\n and play with three to see if you can cover all distances comfortably before you consider adding a fourth.\n <\/p>\n
