That\u2019s because most of the chatter coming from professional golf camps, commentators, and clubhouses has been about one thing, distance<\/em>. Every pro wants distance, every amateur obsesses over distance, but unfortunately fixation on long drives isn’t always a good thing.<\/p>\n

Bartels also went on to state that it\u2019s been no secret in years past that softer golf balls have come at a penalty to golf ball performance. So how has Callaway improved the latest good-feel golf ball, and can it be a beneficial tool to carry in your golf bag<\/a>?<\/p>\n

The Specs<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Callaway Chrome Soft<\/a> is indicative of the direction that the reputable golf ball producer is headed: toward better feel and control through lower compression ratings.<\/p>\n

This comes as no surprise to people familiar with the golf supply and equipment industry, as most trends tend to be cyclical. For far too long, many golf ball makers have focused on distance and speed, while leaving little room for anything else. That approach was great for Tour pros that are garnering ultimate control and precision of their golf game, but what about the rest of us?<\/p>\n

Most intermediate golfers and mid to high-level handicappers lose strokes from short distances and around the green, not from sacrificing a few yards off the tee. Bartels also went on to explain how the SoftFast\u00ae core of the Chrome Soft compresses at impact just before retaining its own energy, restoring it and using it to generate a faster ball speed. Callaway\u2019s attention to detail in the development of this particular golf ball is simply astonishing.<\/p>\n

The Callaway Chrome Soft golf ball is destined to change the landscape of the golf ball industry.
