Just when we thought Titleist\u2019s Pro V1 models couldn\u2019t get any better, the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls<\/a> have once again raised the bar. The updated models were unveiled during the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show<\/a>, held earlier this month at the Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n

With PGA Tour pros wielding the most influence over any potential changes they wanted to see made in upcoming Pro V1\u00ae and Pro V1x\u2122 models, the most common responses from golf pros could be summed up in two words: not much. With responses from Tour players pointing toward making precise changes in regards to more short-game spin alongside a softer feel (without losing distance), Titleist<\/a> has once again proven that sometimes the minimalist approach delivers maximum results.<\/p>\n

Titleist Pro V1 & Pro V1x Get a High-Tech Suit<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cover may seem the same on the outside: white, dimpled, with the world-renowned “Titleist” logo adjacent to a newer, larger side stamp. However, the beauty of the latest Pro V1 and Pro V1x lies in the unseen details of the new cover\u2019s sophisticated formulation. Titleist golf balls\u2019<\/a> new outer layer \u2013 comprised of a revolutionary thermoset urethane elastomer cover \u2013 has been painstakingly designed to meet the demands of PGA Tour pros and amateurs alike, without sacrificing the reliable performance of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x models of years past.<\/p>\n

Improving a product that has already set the benchmark for high-caliber golf ball performance was no easy task, according to Michael Sullivan, the Vice President of Golf Ball Product Development at Titleist. “Thermoset urethane is very difficult to work with, but it gives us complete control of the chemical composition,” Mr. Sullivan stated for Golf.com. “This allows us to dial in our desired properties of spin control, softness and durability.”<\/p>\n
